What's the Itinerary?

In general, we don't follow a rigid itinerary. We like to respond to the conditions on the day, like the weather and avoiding crowds. Therefore, most of the destinations listed below will be visited on every tour, but occasionally we'll swap one with another to make sure you have the best experience possible.

Guided bushwalks    We will spend a few hours exploring some of the most iconic Blue Mountains landscapes with a series of short guided wilderness walks away from the crowds. Our aim is to take you on a combination of trails that showcase the most spectacular Blue Mountains environments and offer the opportunity of spotting native Australian wildlife in it's natural habitat. The locations will be chosen by your guide and will take into account the weather & avoiding crowds. You will experience waterfalls, rainforest canyons, groves of towering Eucalyptus trees & awe inspiring views as you are serenaded by birdsong & breathe in the fresh mountain air. Your guide will reveal hidden natural wonders gleaned over a lifetime of exploring the Blue Mountains and talk about what makes this ancient wilderness so unique.​​

Sublime Point    One of the most spectacular of all the Blue Mountains lookouts. From Sublime Point you will gaze out from the rim of a vast canyon towards a seemingly endless wilderness of sandstone plateaux, escarpments and gorges filled with eucalyptus trees, wildflowers and Gondwanan rainforest. During the warmer months we'll enjoy a picnic lunch here in the shade of Eucalyptus trees.

Wentworth Falls     Wander along the breathtaking Undercliff Track with expansive canyon views of the Kedumba Valley and see the largest waterfall in the Blue Mountains as it plunges nearly 200 metres into an ancient Gondwanan rainforest. ​​

Leura village & Cliff Drive     We will take the scenic route through the quiet tree-lined back streets of Leura Village with it's colourful gardens and historic houses. Eventually we end up on Cliff Drive which follows the rim of the canyon through pockets of rainforest that give way to glimpses of the vast Jamison Valley below.​​

Juliette's Balcony     Descend through a beautiful rainforest filled canyon to a quiet & secluded lookout with breathtaking views of the Three Sisters and Katoomba Falls.

The Lookout With No Name    One of the most spectacular lookouts in the Blue Mountains.  A short walk across a windswept plateau covered in wildflowers and sculpted sandstone outcrops takes us to a remote rock platform that gives you a 300 degree view of the seemingly endless canyon walls of the Kedumba Valley.

Govetts Leap Lookout    Here you'll gaze out at a vast and dramatic Eucalyptus filled canyon into which Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls plummet abruptly to the Grose Valley below.  From here we'll follow a track that hugs the rim of the canyon out to an isolated lookout, from which you get spectacular views of the twin waterfalls and rainforest covered walls of the canyon. Along the way we'll cross a lovely rainforest gully with billabongs & tree ferns.

Anvil Rock Lookout    Driving across the vast beauty of Blackheath Plateau with it's wildflowers, stunted Eucalypts & wind sculpted rock formations we'll arrive at Anvil Rock lookout. From a remote rock platform that overlooks the mighty Grose Valley you'll have epic views of the vertical sandstone walls that have led some to call this place the "Green Grand Canyon".   Also near by is the "Wind Eroded Cave", a sweeping sandstone rock face intricately sculpted by wind over vast amounts of time.

Coachwood Glen     One of the most beautiful pockets of ancient Gondwanan rainforest in the Blue Mountains, Coachwood Glen sits within a narrow canyon that gradually descends hundreds of meters down to the floor of the Megalong Valley. Here we'll wander amongst giant tree ferns, gardens of moss and gentle cascading streams.

Megalong Valley    Spot mobs of wild kangaroos with towering sandstone escarpments and rolling farmland fringed with stands of Eucalyptus forest as a backdrop.

Narrow Neck Plateau    As the magic hour light bathes the vast expanse of golden sandstone escarpments, we'll explore the wind swept beauty of a plateaux top covered in wildflowers and intricately sculpted rock formations, culminating in a breathtaking sunset away from the tourist hordes. ​​

Echo Point and the Three Sisters    Our last stop for the day.  Echo Point is the most famous of all the Blue Mountains lookouts as it gives you the best, up close view of the iconic "Three Sisters" rock formation, as well as a 270 degree view of the vast Jamison Valley. Particularly spectacular at sunset, one of the great spectacles of the Blue Mountains takes place as multiple large flocks of Sulphur Crested White Cockatoos descend back down to the valley floor to roost for the night. Watch them plummet off the escarpment all around you, tumbling and rolling like daredevil fighter pilots for hundreds of meters and screeching with pure joy the whole way down. A truly thrilling and unforgettable experience!

Return to Sydney     The days' adventure will end with a comfortable journey back to Sydney where you will have a choice of three convenient drop off locations.

What's excluded?

Bottled water.   Please bring a re-fillable water bottle with you to reduce unnecessary plastic waste. There will be plenty of places where you can refill with fresh, clean & delicious Blue Mountains water!

Hotel transfers pre/post tour itinerary.  We will meet you at one central location in the morning and drop you at one of three convenient inner-city locations at the end of the tour

Fitness Requirements

All our guided walks take place on formed trails within the bounds of the Blue Mountains National Park, but the terrain can sometimes be uneven & rocky.

A moderate level of fitness is required as most of our short walks involve varying amounts of climbing.  Nothing extreme, but as a general rule you would need to be comfortable with gradually ascending the equivalent of 10 - 15 flights of steps.

You can expect to do somewhere between 8000 & 15,000 steps throughout the day.

Our wilderness adventures would suit people who do at least a small amount of moderate physical activity on a regular basis.  You don't need to be a marathon runner, but you might struggle with the up-hill climbs if you're not used to regular walking in your day to day life.

Age Restrictions

Due to the nature of the activities, we cannot accept children under the age of 12.  If you are traveling as a family with young children please consider booking a private tour so we can tailor an experience to your needs.

All children under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.

The tour would generally not be suitable for people over the age of 75, but if you are a fit & active older person that can manage up to 20,000 steps & 20 flights of stairs throughout the day, then absolutely you are welcome to join us.

Due to Australian liquor licensing laws, children under the age of 18 are not allowed in a public bar where alcohol is being served.  They are allowed to eat in the dining section though.

An extra warm layer like a sweater or a wind breaker.  The weather in the Blue Mountains can go from sweltering in the morning to chilly in the evening, and regularly does.

Lunch will be a traditional Aussie pie from an award winning local Blue Mountains patisserie.  Vegetarian, vegan & gluten free options are available.

Non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, tea & hot chocolate are available for you to purchase separately with your lunch.

If the weather is suitable, we'll enjoy our lunch as a picnic under the shade of Eucalyptus trees at one of the Blue Mountains most spectacular lookouts.

Snacks will be available throughout the day.

What's the Weather Like?

Blue Mountains weather is notoriously changeable!  The old saying "four seasons in one day" definitely applies.  You always need to be prepared for it to go from sweltering to chilly to wet, sometimes from one hour to the next!

As a general guide though:

Autumn (March - May):
10–25°C (50–77°F)

Winter (June - August):
2–12°C (36–54°F)

Spring (September - November):
8–25°C (46–77°F)

Summer (December - February):
15–35°C (59–95°F)

The Blue Mountains is generally cooler than Sydney due to its elevation, so layering up is a good idea all year round.

Question 11

What is Your Cancellation Policy?

We understand that travel plans can sometimes change.  If you need to cancel a tour, a full refund will be offered if you cancel outside of 24 hours before your tour departure time and date. You must also provide us with written notification to cancel. Cancellations within 24 hours will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

A cancellation will only take effect when we receive written confirmation that you have sent to your relevant booking agent notifying them of your cancellation.

Note different cancellation conditions may apply if/when booked through third-party agents, your travel consultant will advise if differences apply. We strongly advise travellers to take out travel insurance that includes cancellation fees before traveling.

Can I bring luggage on board?

To maximize the comfort of everyones journey, no luggage storage facilities are provided on our day trips. It is recommended you bring a small day pack no bigger than 5-7kg.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of rain or inclement weather, your travel experience will still go ahead, unless contacted by the provider. This tour would only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions, whereby it’s deemed not safe to travel into the Blue Mountains National Park.

What if I'm running late?

Traditional Owners

FeelGood! Nature Tours pays respects to the traditional owners of the country that the greater Sydney region sits within, with specific acknowledgement to the Eora, Dharawal, Darramurragal, Gundungurra and Dharug people.  Please be conscious and respectful of the sensitivities of indigenous culture and the spiritual connection they have with the land at all times.

Wildlife Encounters

The natural behaviours of wildlife are to be respected and not interfered with. When viewing wildlife, people should take care to avoid rapid or sudden movements, which could frighten the animal, and should keep noise to a minimum and refrain from touching, petting or feeding all wildlife including birds. Contact with people can introduce diseases to wildlife and can cause them to become aggressive.

Wildlife should not be handled or fed, unless by certified wildlife handlers. Feeding wildlife can alter their natural foraging behaviour and can lead to disease or illness through contact with people and the introduction of foods that are harmful to their digestive system. Feeding wildlife can also cause them to become aggressive toward people.

Wildlife that appears to be in distress, injured or in danger should be reported immediately to the appropriate authority, such as your Guide/Tour Leader, a National Park Ranger or Visitor Centre Staff.

Protecting our National Parks

People should remain on designated walking tracks, behind safety barriers/fences and follow all directions given by the guide/tour leader. Venturing off these can alter fragile ecosystems and can harm wildlife shelters and native vegetation. There are other dangers to be aware of too, such as cliff edges, unstable rock formations, overhanging tree branches and slippery ground cover. Remaining on tracks ensures safe visitation for guests and the environment.

No flora or fauna should be removed from their natural setting. This includes dead wood, fallen leaves, flowers and so forth, as they form part of the ecosystem of the region and their removal could cause a disturbance.

Waste Management

To discourage native wildlife from scavenging, no garbage bins are provided within the national parks that surround Sydney.  Therefore, all waste should be carried out and disposed of at designated rubbish bins which can be found at various other places we visit throughout the day.

No organic waste should be disposed of onto the ground. Although organic, items such as banana peels, apple cores, bread and other food scraps, are not natural/native to the region and can introduce pest species, diseases or harm to wildlife if found and eaten.

We recommend all guests to bring their own re-fillable water bottle, There will be plenty of places where you can refill with fresh, clean & delicious Sydney water.  Please ensure you stay hydrated throughout the tour to reduce the risk of sun exposure and dehydration.

First Aid

All our guides carry a current Level 2 First Aid certificate. Please report any accident or illness to your tour guide. We recommend anyone with an existing medical condition to carry their medication with them on tour and to notify their tour guide at the beginning of the tour.

Smoking

If you are a smoker, we ask you to refrain from smoking whilst in the company of other passengers and limit it to designated smoking areas. Smoking is not permitted on any of our vehicles, or within the confines of national park areas.

Unfortunately we do not have the facilities at this stage to accomodate physically impaired people due to the limitations of the van and the nature of the tour.  We hope this is something that will change in the near future.
